Hello, I am Amulya, and I have always been a dreamer!
I grew up in Bengaluru. Famously known to others as the Silicon Valley of India, but to me, it was the land of Masala Dosas and Filter Coffee. Slow morning walks in lush-green neighborhood of Jayanagara and an hour-long traffic jams on Bannerghatta Road. From a young age, I was captivated by the colorful allure of this cosmopolitan paradise, thanks in large to my obsession with Princess Diaries (Genovia sounds dreamy, doesn’t it?) and the countless photographs showcasing the majestic Golden Gate Bridge. My feet may have been firmly planted in my hometown, but my mind was always set on living in the vibrant city of San Francisco. With all its grandeur and magnetic charm, it truly became a symbol of my dreams and aspirations.
And my dream came true and how!! ‘Twas the year of 2022, when my long-term, long-distance boyfriend of four years gets a job in Bay Area, and I decide to utilize my WFH perks to move here too. And thus, I breathed life into my decade-long dream, and finally made it into a reality.
It doesn’t matter where I live, my mantra has always been to explore a city like a tourist. For me, a good balance is to go on out-of-city getaways, but also relishing simple joys like savoring a matcha soft-serve in SanFran Chinatown.
